Baked Apple Slices

Making pancakes or waffles for breakfast?

Slice up an apple or two before you start prep for pancakes and have steaming delish natural fruit topper.

Ingredients:

  • 2-3 apples (best -Honey Crisp, Pink Lady, Granny Smith, Fuji)
  • 1 Tbs cinnamon (enough to cover each slice showing)
  • 1 cup water
  • (optional - squeeze a little honey over top)

Directions:

  1. Wash apples, keep skin on. Slice and remove core/seeds.
  2. Use 8x8 or 9x9 glass pan (no need to spray) and fill with apple slices. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
  3. Fill pan with water, almost to top of apples but not covering.
  4. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 min to an hour, depending on how thick your slices are and what apples you've used.

NOTES:  Add more water at 30 min if getting low - do not want to burn pan.

These are ready when fork goes through easily or if you like firmer take out before. If they cook too long you now can serve apple sauce instead!

PS: Your house will smell marvelous all morning too.
